Justin Barnes, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Tulsa District park ranger for Copan Lake stands near a dried lakebed at Osage Plains Campground. Lake staff closed the campground on October 31, 2023, due to dangerous conditions created by the drought. The lake level at Copan Lake is currently 702.38 feet, which is 7.62 feet below normal.
