U.S. Marine Corps Sgt. Matthew Knutson, a communications intelligence team leader with command element, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, operates a communication emitter sensing and attack system II during an expeditionary advanced base exercise on Kin Blue, Okinawa, Japan, Dec. 7, 2023. The EAB exercise encouraged Marines and Sailors to work side-by-side and refine their equipment capabilities. The 31st MEU, the Marine Corps' only continuously forward-deployed MEU, provides a flexible and lethal force ready to perform a wide range of military operations as the premier crisis response force in the Indo-Pacific region.
