Leaders focused on defining 10th AAMDC’s values, wholistic health and fitness, and mindfulness.
Leaders spent the morning defining what Teamwork, Commitment, Empathy, Accountability, and Trust means. The hours long discussion, collaboration, and definition of these values will soon be published in a Team 10 Values Book for all members of Team 10.
In the afternoon, the Armed Forces Wellness Center from Wiesbaden came and spoke on the performance triad.
Finally, leaders were immensely privileged to learn about mindfulness from Amisha Jha, PhD and Scott Rogers, JD, both from the University of Miami.
Dr. Jha says mindfulness is “A mental mode characterized by attention to present moment experience without conceptual elaboration or emotional reactivity.”
Leaders learned how to maximize mindfulness to enhance thinking, connecting, feeling, and performance.
Mindfulness increases attention and “attention matters most when leadership matters most. Attention is the currency of leadership.”
