Maj. Gen. Rich Neely, the Adjutant General of Illinois and Commander of the Illinois National Guard, 'coined' two officers at the Illinois National Guard's Senior Leader Engagement as a thank-you for their hard work and accomplishments while assigned to the Illinois National Guard's Joint Staff. Both 1st Lt. Benton Winscott, of Chillicothe, Illinois, and Capt. Crystal Rodrigues, of Pawnee, Illinois, were presented with Maj. Gen. Neely's command coin. Winscott was honored for his work as the Illinois National Guard Joint Staff Strategic Plans and Policy Officer.
Winscott has been accepted into the Active Guard and Reserve Program and will become a training officer in the Illinois National Guard's 2nd Squadron, 106th Cavalry Regiment. Rodrigues was honored for her work as the Director of the Illinois State Partnership Program with Poland. Rodrigues is returning to her home of O'ahu where she has accepted a job with the State of Hawaii.
