    Father Daniel Mode, chaplain of the U.S. Coast Guard, is greeted by the command of USCGC Frederick Hatch (WPC 1143) in Guam on Dec. 4, 2023. Mode’s military service commenced in 1988, encompassing various roles across the Navy and Marine Corps, including deployments supporting Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom.
