U.S. Marine Corps Sgt. Sergio Sierra, a transmissions system operator with 5th Air Naval Gunfire Liaison Company, III Marine Expeditionary Force Information Group, fires an M18 pistol during the Marine Corps Marksmanship Competition Far East on Camp Hansen, Okinawa, Japan, Dec. 12, 2023. MCMC-Far East is an annual two-week event held to improve Marines’s marksmanship, combat readiness, and weapon proficiency. Marines with 5th ANGLICO refined the fundamental skills that enhanced their proficiency with precision marksmanship skills and combat marksmanship skills in the use of individual small arms, through advanced marksmanship training and competition, making them more lethal on the battlefield.
