U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Seattle District employees volunteer to scrape barnacle buildup along the 800-foot-long, 8-foot-wide by 14-foot-tall filling tunnels, Dec. 12, 2023, at Hiram M. Chittenden Locks, Seattle. The annual event makes the large lock safer for juvenile salmon going through it as they migrate out to sea.
