Lynette Marr-Gaye, a native of Verona, Virginia, the former sergeant major and senior enlisted advisor of the 4th Marine Aircraft Wing, Marine Forces Reserve, passes off the non-commissioned officer sword to Maj. Gen. John F. Kelliher III, a native of Hanson, Massachusetts, commanding general of 4th MAW, during a relief and appointment ceremony at Marine Corps Support Facility New Orleans, Dec. 15, 2023. The ceremony served as the official changeover between sergeants major, honoring the previous sergeant major while giving an opportunity to introduce the oncoming sergeant major.
