Vietnam Veterans of Quincy, Illinois, Army National Guard Unit Present Memorial Plaque to Modern Unit

Jerry Roush, a Vietnam Veteran from the Illinois Army National Guard's 126th Supply and Services Co., speaks to the modern 126th Quartermaster Co. on Dec. 17 as part of the unit's family holiday party. The Veterans presented the modern unit with a plaque with the 180 names of the Soldiers who served in Vietnam with the Illinois Army National Guard's 126th Supply and Services Co. of Quincy, Illinois. The plaque will hang for perpetuity in the Illinois Army National Guard's Quincy Armory memorializing the service of the only Illinois Army National Guard unit to deploy to Vietnam. The unit deployed in September 1968 and returned to a parade and celebration in Quincy in August 1969. (Courtesy photo.)
