U.S. Marine Corps outgoing SgtMaj. Lynette Marr-Gaye, a native of Verona Virginia, the former sergeant major and senior enlisted advisor of the 4th Marine Aircraft Wing, sends her farewell to the audience of Marine Force Reserve and Marine Forces South at the Marine Corps Support Facility New Orleans, Dec. 15, 2023. The ceremony serves as the official changeover between sergeants major, honoring the previous sergeant major while giving an opportunity of introduction for the oncoming sergeant major. Sgt. Maj. Marr-Gaye relinquished her duties and responsibilities as sergeant major of 4th MAW to Sgt. Maj. Heider, incoming sergeant major of 4th MAW, to serve as the commander's senior enlisted adviser, handling matters of discipline and morale among the enlisted Marines.
