U.S. Marines maneuver an Amphibious Combat Vehicle into the water during the Amphibious Assault School Transition Training Unit Operator Certification Course at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, California, Dec. 14, 2023. The Operator Certification Course ensures Marines possess the technical knowledge, skills, and proficiency required to safely operate the ACV in waterborne operations. ACVs are currently authorized to conduct waterborne operations in open and protected waters while surf-zone transit testing is ongoing. The Marine Corps is taking a deliberate approach to fielding the ACV to the Fleet Marine Force to ensure our Marines understand the platform’s capabilities and can operate it safely and proficiently.
