U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Polar Star (WAGB 10) conducts dive operations

U.S. Coast Guard Petty Officer 1st Class Ryan Miller, and Petty Officer 2nd Class Corey Smith, divers from Regional Dive Locker West and Pacific respectively, are lowered into the water from the U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Polar Star (WAGB 10) before a dive operation in McMurdo Sound, Antarctica, Jan. 7, 2024. Every year, a joint and total force team works together to complete a successful Operation Deep Freeze season. Active, Guard, and Reserve service members from the U.S. Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, and Navy work together to forge a JTF-SFA that continues the tradition of U.S. military support to the United States Antarctic Program.
