A U.S. Marine Corps CH-53E Super Stallion attached to Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron (VMM) 165 (Reinforced), 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit, prepares to land inserting Marines for a precision raid at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, California, Dec. 17, 2023. The precision raid was launched from the amphibious transport dock USS Somerset (LPD 25) and was conducted by Reconnaissance Company, with support from security elements from Battalion Landing Team 1/5, 15th MEU, targeting a simulated high-value individual from an adversary force.
