240112-N-PV401-1187 SOUTH CHINA SEA (Jan. 12, 2024) Electronics Technician 2nd Class Christian Morrison, from Olympia, Washington, holds steady a phone-and-distance (P&D) line aboard Ticonderoga-class guided-missile cruiser USS Princeton (CG 59) during a replenishment-at-sea with Military Sealift Command fleet replenishment oiler USNS John Erickson (T-AO 194). The P&D line is used to measure distances between ships while transferring supplies and fuel. Princeton is assigned to Carrier Strike Group ONE and deployed to the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations in support of a free and open Indo-Pacific.
