Tiffany Glaser, Primary Prevention Integrator, Fleet Marine Force, Atlantic, Marine Forces Command, Commanding General, Marine Forces Northern Command, standing, left foreground, addresses Marines, Sailors, and Civilian Marines at a quarterly town hall meeting aboard Navy Reserve Forces Command headquarters, Naval Support Activity Hampton Roads, Norfolk, Virginia, January 16, 2024. During the town hall, Glaser discussed how active duty Marines and Sailors have expanded access to resources for mental health support through the Brandon Act – a law that creates a self-initiated referral process for service members seeking a mental health evaluation and aims to reduce stigma by allowing them to seek help confidentially. The legislation was signed into law by President Joe Biden on December 27, 2021, as part of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2022. The Brandon Act is named after Petty Officer 3rd Class Brandon Caserta who died by suicide in 2018. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Casey Price)
