U.S. Marines assigned to Reconnaissance Company, 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit, load an ultra-light tactical vehicle into a CH-53E Super Stallion attached to Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron (VMM) 165 (Reinforced), 15th MEU, on San Clemente Island, California, Jan. 10, 2024. The Marines were retrograding after completing an expeditionary advanced basing operation. The EAB was established for Marines to sense for nearby threats and build maritime domain awareness during the 15th MEU’s integrated training with the Boxer Amphibious Ready Group.
