Troops from the United Arab Emirates 11th Mountain Battalion prepare their personal equipment with the multiple integrated laser engagement system (MILES) prior to the beginning of Joint Readiness Training Center rotation 24-03 at Fort Johnson, Louisiana, Jan. 9, 2024. JRTC and Fort Johnson train Brigade Combat Teams to conduct large scale operations on a decisive action battlefield against a near-peer threat with multi-domain capabilities. JRTC and the Combat Training Center platform continue to evolve in order to challenge Soldiers, Leaders, and IBCTs in the most realistic, demanding, rigorous battlefield environment. Last year, UAE became the first partner from the CENTCOM region to have a company level unit participate in a training rotation. This year, UAE returned to conduct air-assault operations alongside the 101st Airborne Division, premier air-assault force in the world.
