U.S. Marine Corps Cpl. Tristan Gilmore oversees Marines crimping non-electric blasting caps in preparation for a demolition range at the Central Training Area, Okinawa, Japan, Jan. 18, 2024. At the demolition range, Marines practiced clearing, removing, and breaching obstacles within a combat scenario to facilitate the movement of maneuver forces. Gilmore, a native of Oregon, is a combat engineer with 2d Battalion, 7th Marines. 2/7 is forward deployed in the Indo-Pacific under 4th Marine Regiment, 3d Marine Division as part of the Unit Deployment Program.
