Soldiers with the 2nd Battalion, 112th Infantry Regiment, 56th Stryker Brigade Combat Team, Pennsylvania Army National Guard, and observer, coach/ trainers with the 174th Infantry Brigade, conduct a Tactical Exercise Without Troops on Dona Ana, New Mexico, Jan 23, 2024. A TEWT is a military training method designed to allow leaders and staff to plan and rehearse tactical operations without the involvement of actual troops on the ground. It is a simulation-based training exercise where participants use maps, charts, and other tools to walk through and discuss tactical scenarios. TEWTs are valuable for training commanders and their staff in decision-making, coordination, and communication within a simulated battlefield environment. These exercises help refine tactics, techniques, and procedures without the need for deploying troops in the field, providing a cost-effective and efficient way to enhance military readiness.
