Every new generation of Soldiers have to be reminded why we changed the laws in the Army. The Civil Rights Acts of 1964 changed the Army. The killing of George Floyd in 2020 set in motion monumental changes in our Department of the Defense and the U.S. Army. Every generation needs to understand that we all have a responsibility to push the dream. Why? Because the dream has become the American way of life. We expect to be respected. Expect to be included. We expect to be accepted. When you see discrimination surfacing say something. When you see disparities and inequities who gets promoted and who gets certain jobs, say something. When you see the lack of dignity and respect directed at a Soldier, say something. No one can do everything, but everyone can do something. So if you can't fly, then run. If you can't run, then walk. If you can't walk, then crawl. But whatever you do, you by all means KEEP MOVING!! - Guest Speaker Chaplain U.S. Army Capt. Tammy Briggs
