U.S. Air Force communications specialists from the 133rd Communications Flight dismantle a High Frequency antenna during a winter training exercise at a remote location outside of Grand Marais, Minnesota, Jan. 29, 2024. The Airmen were transitioning from the near vertical incidence skywave antenna to a larger whip antenna to increase the communications range capabilities. The joint training exercise allowed communications experts from the Minnesota National Guard - to include the 148th Fighter Wing, the 133rd Airlift Wing, the 55th Civil Support Team, and J6 - the ability to set up, troubleshoot and operate equipment at multiple locations under adverse conditions.
