Airmen visit the Wounded Knee Memorial on Pine Ridge Reservation, South Dakota, on Jan. 26, 2024. The Wounded Knee Memorial pays tribute to over 300 Lakota elders, men, women and children who were massacred in 1890 by U.S. soldiers. Elder, Roger Iron Cloud, speaks to the Airmen about the 1890 massacre and the 1973 occupation. This was the first time military members were invited to visit the memorial.
