Senior Airmen Shellie McClure models the much loved 185th Fighter Wing organizational hat, dubbed “the NASCAR hat” in October of 2000. The photo was used to advertise that the hat was avialable for purchase for $15. The same month the Iowa Air National Guard unit’s newest organizational ball cap was made available it was announced the Fighter Wing would be converting to air refueling.
