U.S. Marines with Marine Wing Communications Squadron (MWCS) 18 and Marine Air Control Squadron (MACS) 4, Marine Air Control Group 18, 1st Marine Aircraft Wing, set up a Marine Air Traffic Control Mobile Team and connect to an Android Tactical Assault Kit (ATAK) through use of an MPU5 radio connected to a Starshield system at LZ Westfield, Marine Corps Air Station Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii, Jan. 31, 2024. The ATAK is used to plan and coordinate aircraft and personnel movements. MWCS-18 and MACS-4 worked alongside U.S. Army, Airforce, and Coast Guard personnel in preparation for Balikatan 24.
