Sailors Conduct Replenishment-at-Sea with USNS Cesar Chavez

240203-N-VM650-1445 PHILIPPINE SEA (Feb. 3, 2024) Sailors assigned to Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Sterett (DDG 104) hold the phone-and-distance (P&D) line during a replenishment-at-sea with Lewis and Clark-class dry cargo ship USNS Cesar Chavez (T-AKE 14). The P&D line is used to measure distances between ships while transferring items and fuel. Sterett is assigned to Carrier Strike Group ONE and deployed to the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations in support of a free and open Indo-Pacific.
