Brig. Gen. Lisa J. Hou, D.O., The Adjutant General of New Jersey, and New Jersey Gov. Philip D. Murphy enter the drill floor during Hou’s promotion ceremony to the rank of major general at the National Guard Armory in Lawrenceville, New Jersey, Feb. 3, 2024. Hou, the 33rd Adjutant General of New Jersey, commands more than 8,400 Soldiers and Airmen of the New Jersey National Guard. As Commissioner of the New Jersey Department of Military and Veterans Affairs, Hou leads, directs, and manages the New Jersey Department of Military and Veterans Affairs in the execution of federal and state missions.
