U.S. Marine Corps Sgt. Guy Tobin, a transmissions system operator with 3rd Intelligence Battalion, Maritime Surveillance Platoon, III Marine Expeditionary Force Information Group, sets up a commercial radar during a communications field exercise, Rapid Tanto at Ie Shima, Okinawa, Japan, Feb. 5, 2024. The radar allows surveillance of distant maritime activity. Using off-the-shelf radars and low-signature equipment, 5th Air Naval Gunfire Liaison Company and 3rd Intel Bn demonstrated proficiency in planning, coordination, and execution of dynamic targeting capable of supporting maritime campaigns in an increasingly contested Indo-Pacific. Tobin is a native of Waverly, IA. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Cpl. William Wallace)
