Technical Sgt. Matthew Hurless, an in-flight refueling specialist assigned to the 92nd Air Refueling Squadron, performs aerial refueling during exercise Bamboo Eagle 24-1 over California, Jan. 28, 2024. The U.S. Air Force Warfare Center hosted the first iteration of Bamboo Eagle, which ensures total readiness through combat representative training across multiple domains and adds elements of Agile Combat Employment. Approximately 3,000 U.S. service members across four branches and close to 300 joint allies and partners from the Royal Air Force and Royal Australian Air Force participated, improving interoperability that reflects coalition forces in a future fight. The large-scale exercise also synchronizes with the Air Force Force Generation model and serves as a certification event to ensure force capabilities are optimally mission ready when tasked to support Combatant Commanders.
