The 1844th Transportation Company had a welcome home ceremony in Springfield, Illinois Feb. 10, 2024. The 1844th Transportation Company was ordered to active duty on 15 October 2022 in support of Southwest Border Operations. Their mission was to provide detection and monitoring support in the vicinity of Laredo, Texas. The 1844th Transportation Company undertook the unique and challenging mission of dividing into two elements, providing augmentation for manning and expansion in two lines of effort across Task Force Argonne and Task Force Southeast with posts in Zapata and Laredo, Texas.
