Clint Hoskins and Acting Technical Director Darren Barnes aboard Battle Point YTT-10, a Cape Flattery-class torpedo trial craft, also known as a Yard Torpedo Tender, Feb. 14, 2024, during range operations at Canadian Forces Maritime Experimental and Test Ranges. The ranges operated by CFMETR are located over an area of the Strait of Georgia—known as Area "Whiskey Golf"—that is several hundred meters deep, several dozen kilometers long and several kilometers wide over a seabed composed of soft mud and free of underwater obstacles. CFMETR is a joint Canadian-US test facility situated on the east side of Vancouver Island in the sheltered Nanoose Bay.
