    31st Marine Expeditionary Unit       

    A U.S. Navy Sailor with the amphibious dock landing ship USS Green Bay (LPD 20), removes chains from a U.S. Marine Corps AH-1Z Viper during flight operations aboard the USS Green Bay, in the Philippine Sea, Feb. 14, 2024. U.S. Marines with Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 265 (Rein.), 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, work together with Sailors aboard the USS Green Bay to provide key air combat element operations from close air support to ship-to-ship transportation. The 31st MEU is operating aboard ships of the America Amphibious Ready Group in the 7th fleet area of operations to enhance interoperability with allies and partners and serve as a ready response force to defend peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
