Crew chiefs, along with the rest of airframe, powerplant and general from the 25th FGS have many responsibilities to ensure that the planes can safely make it out to the runway. One of these responsibilities includes conducting regular foreign object debris walks in the area outside of the hangars to ensure that the aircraft are not at risk of becoming damaged prior to taxi.
