The northern lights appear above a U.S. Soldier, attached to 1st Battalion, 5th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 11th Airborne Division, during Joint Pacific Multinational Readiness Center 24-02 at Donnelly Training Area, Alaska, Feb. 15, 2024. The soldier stood by on security while part of his team gathered the equipment necessary for a one-kilometer troop movement. The Arctic is unforgiving and requires deliberate, purposeful leaders who are meticulous in their planning and approach to warfighting, and JPMRC 24-02 is key to testing some of the best leaders and soldiers the Army has to offer.
