SMSgt. Brian Kimball, a member of 1st Combat Camera Squadron, participates in the first Perkins challenge. Corporal William Thomas Perkins Jr. is the only combat photographer to receive the Medal of Honor after giving his life for his country.” Corporal William Perkins (USMC) enlisted in the Marine Corps Reserve in April of 1966 and was discharged and enlisted in the Regular Marine Corps in July of the same year.
