Alpha Battery, 5th Battalion, 4th Air Defense Artillery Regiment, hosted a small breakfast within their company operating facility on Shipton Kaserne, Ansbach, the morning of their deployment to the Eastern Flank on August 3, 2023. The Soldiers of Alpha Battery are deploying for a nine-month rotation in Poland, Slovakia, and Romania. This deployment is the first operational deployment of the Maneuver Short Range Air Defense System that the 5th Battalion, 4th Air Defense Artillery Regiment, has been feeding to replace the legacy Avenger Air Defense System.
