Gen. Randy George, 41st Chief of Staff of the U.S. Army, recognizes Soldiers and Department of the Army Civilians assigned to Joint Task Force - National Capital Region and U.S. Army Military District of Washington at Fort McNair, Washington, D.C., Feb. 26, 2024. As a dual-hatted command, JTF-NCR/USAMDW has the unique responsibility of fulfilling its Army-mission to provide ceremonial and outreach support, among other things, as well as bring the core staff element of U.S. Northern Command’s joint task force responsible for homeland defense, defense of critical infrastructure, and defense support of civil authorities. Key leader engagements like this help to ensure Army senior leaders have a holistic view of the unit’s mission and can provide support needed from the headquarters level.
