A Japanese college student speaks to U.S. Marines with 1st Marine Aircraft Wing and 3rd MAW during the University of Tokyo’s visit to Marine Corps Air Station Futenma, Okinawa, Japan, Feb. 28, 2024. U.S. Forces Japan and MCAS Futenma organized a tour for college students majoring in law and politics. During the brief, the University of Tokyo students learned about MCAS Futenma’s geopolitical role in the Indo-Pacific region, received a windshield tour around the perimeter of the air station, and observed aircraft on the flightline such as the V-22 Osprey, AH-1 Cobra, and UH-1Y Venom.
