(March 1, 2024) NEWPORT, R.I. – Capt. Joseph Baggett, right, relieves Capt. Brian Mutty, left, as the commanding officer of Surface Warfare Schools Command (SWSC) during a change of command ceremony at Naval Station Newport, Rhode Island. Mutty was promoted to rear admiral after the ceremony and he will serve as assistant chief of staff, J3, at Allied Joint Forces Command Naples. SWSC’s mission is to ready sea-bound warriors to serve on surface combatants as officers, enlisted engineers and enlisted navigation professionals in order to fulfill the Navy’s mission to maintain global maritime superiority.
