U.S. Marines embark on a U.S. Marine Corps CH-53 Super Stallion during landing zone operations on Camp Hansen, Okinawa, Japan, Feb. 27, 2024. The training is designed to increase Marines’ experience and proficiency with aerial inserts, as well as assault support aircraft communications and operations. The Marines are with 12th Marine Littoral Regiment, 3d Marine Division. The CH-53 Super Stallion is assigned to Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron (HMH) 466 and is forward deployed in the Indo-Pacific under 1st Marine Aircraft Wing as part of the Unit Deployment Program.
