Miss America 2024 U.S. Air Force 2nd Lt. Madison Marsh participates in a Public Wreath-Laying Ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Va., March 5, 2024. Marsh is the first active-duty service member to earn the crown.
Marsh earned her civilian pilot’s license at 17 and graduated from the Air Force Academy in the spring of 2023. Upon commissioning, Marsh received a pilot’s billet. Soon after, she was crowned Miss Colorado. After deferring her pilot training, she pursued a master’s degree in public policy from the Harvard Kennedy School. In January of this year, Marsh won the title of Miss America. She is now in a public affairs/recruiting position with the Air Force for the year that she is Miss America.
