Col. Eric Swenson, Hawai‘i Wildfires Recovery Mission commander, and members of the USACE emergency operations team attended an evening town hall meeting in Lahaina, Hawai‘i, March 6, 2024.
The topic of discussion was Maui’s current temporary housing situation. A presentation was given by FEMA, the lead federal agency, followed by a question and answer session. A site location has been selected and USACE is expected to break ground on a 169-unit temporary housing project in the coming weeks.
