U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran Eddy Hurd and his wife, Linda, run the food pantry inside the Mount Vernon (Illinois) Armory for military families. Hurd is also the Family Readiness Group Leader for the Illinois Army National Guard's D Co., 2nd Battalion, 130th Infantry Regiment based in the armory. The food pantry, serving military families since 2015, was open during the Survivor Outreach Services and Illinois National Guard Family Programs' Easter Egg Hunt at the Mount Vernon (Illinois) Armory on March 9.
