Michel Brandt, commanding officer of the San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock ship USS Somerset (LPD 25) and a native of Oak Grove, Kentucky, presents a plaque and ballcap to Royal Thai Navy Capt. Poollarp Thattathongkam during a scheduled port visit for Exercise Cobra Gold 24, in Sattahip, Thailand, Feb. 23, 2024. Cobra Gold, now in its 43rd year, is a Thai-U.S. co-sponsored training event that builds on the long-standing friendship between the two allied nations and brings together a robust multinational force to promote regional peace and security in support of a free and open Indo-Pacific.
