YOKOSUKA, Japan (Mar. 8, 2024) – Mass Communication Specialist Seaman Alajia Williams, from Savannah, Georgia, assigned to U.S. 7th Fleet flagship USS Blue Ridge (LCC 19), performs a baton strike after being sprayed with oleoresin capsicum during a security reaction force basic (SRF-B) course at Commander, Fleet Activities Yokosuka, Mar. 8, 2024. SRF-B is a three week course that teaches rules and regulations as an armed watch stander and provides Sailors with proper weapons familiarization, tactical maneuvers and the proper use of deadly force. Blue Ridge is the oldest operational ship in the Navy and, as 7th Fleet command ship, routinely interacts and operates with Allies and partners in preserving a free and open Indo-Pacific region.
