    Hospital Corpsman 1st Class Pelisa Jackson, from Columbus, Ga., draws blood from Electrician's Mate 3rd Class Kenneth Allen, from Toms River, N.J., for his periodic health assessment aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Wasp (LHD 1). Wasp's medical capabilities include four operating rooms, 45 general beds with a capacity to expand to 600, a pharmacy, a phlebotomy lab, a radiology lab and three dental service rooms. Wasp's medical facility was designed to be a small medical ship readily available for humanitarian assistance, disaster relief and medical assistance towards combat mission injuries.
