U.S. Army Sergeants Sagen Maddalena and Ivan Roe compete in the USA Shooting Smallbore Olympic Trials Part 3 March 17-19 at Fort Moore, Georgia.
Both Soldiers earned spots on the 2024 Paris Olympic Team in the Women's and Men's 50m Smallbore events. Both Fort Moore Soldiers are marksmanship instructors/competitive shooters for the U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit International Rifle Team.
Roe, a Manhattan, Montana native, is also qualified to compete in the Men’s 10m Air Rifle event in Paris as well. This will be his first Olympics.
Maddalena, a Groveland, California native, is also qualified to compete in the Women's 10m Air Rifle event in Paris as well. This will be her second Olympics. She competed at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and placed 5th in 50m Smallbore.
