Personnel from the U.S. Army’s Program Executive Office Simulation, Training and Instrumentation (PEO STRI) Product Manager Common Synthetic Environment (PdM CSE) staff conducted an extended evaluation of the Training Simulation Software/Training Management Tool (TSS/TMT) system at Camp Shelby, Miss., from January 22-25. The PdM CSE team integrated and assessed the TSS/TMT with the 11B (Infantry) Advanced Leaders Course (ALC) curriculum. The ALC students, comprised of active Army and Army National Guard (ARNG) students, utilized TSS/TMT during the operations process (plan, prepare, execute, and assess) to conduct Troop Leading Procedures (TLPs), replacing the sand tables and PowerPoint slides that were previously used for the instruction. The recent extended evaluations proved the intuitive nature of the TSS/TMT systems, enabling students to effectively employ the system with only minimal instruction. The visit provided valuable insight for continued evaluation and integration of the system in an institutional environment, including possible Soldier Touch Points (STPs), continued use within the institutional domain and future training events hosted at the installation.
