Three generations of U.S. Air Force air superiority, and the technological leaps that maintained it, are represented by a single formation of a P-51 Mustang, F-35A Lightning II, and an A-10 Thunderbolt during a heritage formation flight for Luke Days 2024 Airshow, March 24, 2024, at Luke Air Force Base, Arizona. The mission of the F-35A Lightning II Demonstration team is to showcase the unique aerial capabilities of the Air Force’s most advanced 5th generation multi-role stealth fighter, as well as highlight the history of the Air Force’s service through heritage formation flights.
