SAN FRANCISCO (March 29, 2024) Rear Adm. Richard W. Meyer, deputy commander, U.S. Third Fleet, pins a lapel pin onto a Vietnam veteran during a special ceremony to honor local military veterans in observance of National Vietnam War Veterans Day. The lapel pins, presented by Department of Defense and Navy officials, were given to San Francisco Bay Area veterans who served during the Vietnam War period as a lasting memento of the nation's gratitude.
