JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-FORT SAM HOUSTON – (Jan. 19, 2024) – Hospital Corpsman 1st Class Robert Ortiz, of Orlando, Fla., assigned to Naval Medical Forces Support Command (NMFSC), was awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal by Rear. Adm. Walter Brafford, NMFSC commander at NMFSC headquarters. Ortiz, of Orlando, Fla., was recognized as the command’s Fiscal Year 2023 Sailor of the Year. NMFSC develops and delivers integrated education and training that produces operational medical experts to project Medical Power in support of Naval Superiority.
